ENVIRONMENT & CLIMATE CHANGE
Target and Outcomes
Our goal is to build the resilience of 500 women and girls, including forcibly displaced persons, to climate change by 2030.
Our efforts in this domain focus on:
- Policy Advocacy: We actively engage with governments, organizations, and stakeholders to advocate for legislation that supports and prioritizes women’s involvement in environmental policy-making. Fostering partnerships, we elevate women’s voices in decision-making processes that affect their communities, especially those impacted by displacement.
- Legislative Reforms: We are dedicated to pushing for comprehensive reforms that ensure women’s perspectives and experiences are integral to climate action strategies and environmental regulations. Advocating for inclusive policies creates frameworks that recognize the unique contributions of women, including forcibly displaced individuals, to sustainability efforts.
- Capacity Building: We provide targeted training programs and resources designed to empower women, including those in displacement situations, with essential knowledge and skills in environmental sustainability and climate change initiatives. Through workshops, mentorship, and access to information, we equip women to take on leadership roles in their communities and drive impactful change.
- Climate Action: We support community-led projects that address pressing climate challenges while actively promoting gender equality. By focusing on programs that integrate gender considerations into environmental solutions, we foster sustainable practices that benefit both people and the planet, ensuring that women and marginalized groups, including forcibly displaced persons, are at the forefront of climate action.
- Advocacy and Engagement: We engage with government stakeholders at all levels through advocacy efforts to mainstream gender in environmental and climate change laws. Our initiatives focus on creating an inclusive approach that recognizes the vital role women, particularly those affected by displacement, play in environmental stewardship.
