ABOUT IHGRA

Established in 2015 by brave young women who turned their experiences of physical and emotional violence into a meaningful mission, the Initiative for Human Rights and Gender Awareness emerged from communities facing deep-seated discrimination and the harsh realities of climate change and herder-farmer conflicts.

Fueled by a passion for justice, we recognized that true progress requires addressing the interconnected issues of climate change, economic inequality, and the severe impacts of conflict. From this collective experience and dedication to justice, our organization was born. We envision a world where women and young people can thrive free from discrimination
