Welcome to the Rebuild, Revive Our Communities (ROC) project. This initiative is dedicated to strengthening community cohesion and resilience in the face of various challenges, including conflict, social division, and economic instability. Utilizing Reflective Structured Dialogue (RSD), we engage community members in meaningful conversations that foster understanding and sustainable solutions.

In Benue State, ongoing farmer-herder conflicts have profoundly impacted the community, creating social divisions and hindering development. These conflicts have led to violence, displacement, and a breakdown of trust among different groups. In response to these challenges, Benue State has adopted the State Action Plan for the Implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325, emphasizing the empowerment of women in peacebuilding and conflict resolution, recognizing their critical role in fostering harmonious communities.

Our project aims to localize this action plan through building the capacity of women in Benue State to effectively use Reflective Structured Dialogue. Equipping women with facilitation skills creates safe spaces for dialogue that promote mutual understanding and collaborative problem-solving. Through these conversations, community members can express their concerns, share their experiences, and work together to develop solutions to the underlying issues contributing to conflict.

The ROC project is not just about addressing immediate challenges; it lays the groundwork for sustainable community development. Empowering women as facilitators ensures that diverse voices are heard and valued in the dialogue process. This inclusive approach encourages participation from all community members, fostering a sense of belonging and shared responsibility.

As we move forward, we invite you to join us in this important work. Together, we can rebuild trust, revive our communities.. Through meaningful conversations and collective action, we will transform conflict into collaboration, paving the way for a more united and resilient community.
